Studying the colours, shades and moods of my world and its creatures calms and concentrates the mind. As everyday tensions ease, memories rise from the depths and play like light on moving water: glimpses of a small boy being dragged over Zimbabwean hills by a large dog on a leash; of my siblings and me herding cattle, climbing rocks and swimming in rivers; of early man-hood chasing wild dreams in the Mozambican mountains; of later years exploring the vastness of Zambia, where I now make my home.
