With gingerly regard to the formidable thorns, a Green Woodhoopoe goes after the last survivor on a Governer's Plum tree. Common around Zambia, these spectacular, flashy birds have loud cackling calls and are highly territorial, defending their patch as a family. Their taste for this fruit is shared by humans and has graced the tables of colonial officials - hence the name
